Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Blind Angel by Robert Smithson was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session auction at Christies in New York in May 2016. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,903.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Smithson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alogon #3 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 4,297,000.00 (€ 2,761,568.12).

Die Arbeit Blind Angel von Robert Smithson wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.903,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Smithson erzielen.
