Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Roy Lichtenstein achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April 2017. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Mermaid, from Surrealist Series sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 16,062.41) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Roy Lichtenstein erzielte im April 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples wurde die Arbeit Mermaid, from Surrealist Series für USD 17.500,00 (€ 16.062,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
