Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Advertisement For Simplicity Patterns by Saul Steinberg was sold in the Contemporary Art Online auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,117.21), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Saul Steinberg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Twenty Americans (Twenty Professions) in November last year with an auction result of USD 113,400.00 (€ 109,851.79).

Die Arbeit Advertisement For Simplicity Patterns von Saul Steinberg wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.117,21) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Saul Steinberg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Twenty Americans (Twenty Professions) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 109.851,79).
