Incised with signature and numbered 14/25 on the reverse, additionally annotated with the artist's name, title, date and medium in black ink on the reverse (there were also 6 artist's proofs), co-published by the artist and David Janis Fine Art, New York.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hedy Sleeping (W.P.I. E30) by Tom Wesselmann was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in February this year. The price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 14,261.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Wesselmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Great American Nude No. 48 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 10,681,000.00 (€ 6,864,395.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hedy Sleeping (W.P.I. E30) von Tom Wesselmann wurde im Februar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 14.261,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Wesselmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Great American Nude No. 48 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.681.000,00 (€ 6.864.395,89).
