In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work VB 02 performance by Vanessa Beecroft. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,352.50 (€ 16,339.37), 62% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Vanessa Beecroft have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vb 48, Palazzo Ducale, Genoa in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 120,000.00 (€ 89,199.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 62 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit VB 02 performance von Vanessa Beecroft zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.352,50 (€ 16.339,37) und damit 62% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Vanessa Beecroft auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vb 48, Palazzo Ducale, Genoa im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 120.000,00 (€ 89.199,44).
