Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gold Dredger by Wayne Thiebaud was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,408.00 (€ 1,289.38) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wayne Thiebaud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Encased Cakes in July last year with an auction result of HKD 79,200,000.00 (€ 9,882,532.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gold Dredger von Wayne Thiebaud wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.408,00 (€ 1.289,38) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wayne Thiebaud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Encased Cakes im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 79.200.000,00 (€ 9.882.532,84).
