In July 2017 Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Like the pattern that evolves from repetition, not the visual pattern but a pattern of form & Two of Us / A Broken Twig / My Body (Two Works) by Wes Mills. The result of USD 1,000.00 (€ 845.59) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wes Mills - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sharp Things in the Grass, which sold at auction in January 2011 for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,187.39).
