Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alan Charlton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2015. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work 18 Part Painting sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,568.76) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alan Charlton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Channel Painting no.4, which sold at auction in February 2016 for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 56,060.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alan Charlton erzielte im Juni 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit 18 Part Painting für USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.568,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alan Charlton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Channel Painting no.4 beobachtet, die im Februar 2016 für GBP 43.750,00 (€ 56.060,22) versteigert wurde.
