Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Knives by Andy Warhol was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Sale auction at Christies in New York in November 2016. It changed hands for a price of USD 187,500.00 (€ 177,254.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).

Die Arbeit Knives von Andy Warhol wurde im November 2016 in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 177.254,68) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
