Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Mao by Andy Warhol. It changed hands for a price of USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,555.10) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mao von Andy Warhol zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 42.555,10) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
