Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work The People Work - Noon (Fine/Looney 142) by Benton Murdoch Spruance for USD 2,772.00 (€ 2,380.01). This price was achieved in the auction Important Prints & Multiples Day Sale at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benton Murdoch Spruance achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The People Work - Morning, Noon, Evening, Night in August this year with an auction result of USD 35,280.00 (€ 32,549.13).
