Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Doppelpilzvitrine (10 Doppelpilze) by Carsten Höller was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in June 2016. It changed hands for a price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 33,008.97) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carsten Höller - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hippopotamus, which sold at auction in February 2008 for USD 198,000.00 (€ 130,374.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Doppelpilzvitrine (10 Doppelpilze) von Carsten Höller wurde im Juni 2016 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 33.008,97) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Carsten Höller mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hippopotamus beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für USD 198.000,00 (€ 130.374,66) versteigert wurde.
