In February 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Compression by César. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 32,450.00 (€ 38,223.39), 30% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by César achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Compression "Zim"Compressed Car in December 2015 with an auction result of EUR 627,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Compression von César zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 38.223,39) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von César erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Compression "Zim"Compressed Car im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 627.000,00.
