Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art (Morning Session), which included the work Oh Boy by Charles Bell. The price achieved of USD 262,400.00 (€ 212,486.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Bell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Miami Beach, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 769,000.00 (€ 523,556.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art (Morning Session) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Oh Boy von Charles Bell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 262.400,00 (€ 212.486,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Bell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Miami Beach beobachtet, die im November 2007 für USD 769.000,00 (€ 523.556,64) versteigert wurde.
