Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cabinet D'Un Peintre (Engelmann 75; Bauer 136) by Daniel Chodowiecki was sold in the Old Master, Modern & Contemporary Prints auction at Sothebys in London in September 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,613.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel Chodowiecki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 23 Bll. und ein Titelblatt sowie 6 Vignetten: Illustrationen in May 2011 with an auction result of EUR 22,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cabinet D'Un Peintre (Engelmann 75; Bauer 136) von Daniel Chodowiecki wurde im September 2007 in der Auktion Old Master, Modern & Contemporary Prints bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.613,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Daniel Chodowiecki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 23 Bll. und ein Titelblatt sowie 6 Vignetten: Illustrationen im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 22.500,00.
