In January last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Zapata by David Alfaro Siqueiros. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,274.35), 70% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Alfaro Siqueiros achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paisaje Rojo (Abstracción) in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 425,000.00 (€ 385,697.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Zapata von David Alfaro Siqueiros zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.274,35) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Alfaro Siqueiros erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Paisaje Rojo (Abstracción) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 425.000,00 (€ 385.697,43).
