Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Armchair, Table and Lamp by David Hockney. The price achieved of GBP 352,800.00 (€ 401,378.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Armchair, Table and Lamp von David Hockney zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 352.800,00 (€ 401.378,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
