Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Telephone by Donald Baechler was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,894.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Donald Baechler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Conversazione in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 171,382.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Telephone von Donald Baechler kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.894,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Donald Baechler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Conversazione im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 171.382,56).
