Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by George Condo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in November this year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction, the work Torro sold for USD 82,550.00 (€ 75,678.40) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Condo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude and Forms in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,162,500.00 (€ 5,280,634.10).

Dieses Kunstwerk von George Condo erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Torro für USD 82.550,00 (€ 75.678,40) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Condo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude and Forms im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.162.500,00 (€ 5.280.634,10).
