In October this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Myans by Georges Mathieu. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 44,100.00 (€ 50,639.05), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Mathieu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tuz Gölü in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 18,325,000.00 (€ 2,038,402.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Myans von Georges Mathieu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 44.100,00 (€ 50.639,05) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Mathieu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tuz Gölü im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 18.325.000,00 (€ 2.038.402,44).
