Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Het Denken van het Verbodene (La Pensee de l`interdit// Thinking the Forbidden) by Jan Fabre was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in June 2018. The price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,888.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Fabre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Tree of Life (Sacer oro rosso) in April last year with an auction result of EUR 315,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Het Denken van het Verbodene (La Pensee de l`interdit// Thinking the Forbidden) von Jan Fabre wurde im Juni 2018 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.888,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Fabre erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Tree of Life (Sacer oro rosso) im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 315.000,00.
