Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Artcurial in Paris held the auction Limited Edition, which included the work Sunflower II - 1972 by Joan Mitchell. It changed hands for a price of EUR 3,936.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Mitchell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November this year with an auction result of USD 29,160,000.00 (€ 26,732,673.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Limited Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunflower II - 1972 von Joan Mitchell zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 3.936,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Mitchell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 29.160.000,00 (€ 26.732.673,27).
