Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Molke-Me-Mind by John Bock was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 560.34). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wright in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 74,500.00 (€ 55,377.98).
