Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Stuffd Tonsure by John Chamberlain was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in March last year. The price achieved of USD 25,200.00 (€ 22,717.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Chamberlain achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nutcracker in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,534,300.00 (€ 4,742,330.76).
