Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Brooklyn Bridge From Brooklyn (The Sun) by John Marin was auctioned at Christies in September 2021. The price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,036.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Marin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lobster Boat, Cape Split, Maine in April this year with an auction result of USD 1,925,500.00 (€ 1,744,112.32).
