Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Volair Constellation Series by Leon Polk Smith was auctioned at Phillips in New York in June last year. The price achieved of USD 6,300.00 (€ 6,017.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leon Polk Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Over Red in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 336,500.00 (€ 297,182.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Volair Constellation Series von Leon Polk Smith kam im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.300,00 (€ 6.017,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leon Polk Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Black Over Red im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 336.500,00 (€ 297.182,73).
