Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lincoln Townley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March last year. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Venice Banker sold for GBP 13,860.00 (€ 16,432.59) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lincoln Townley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dance with the Devil in March last year with an auction result of USD 378,000.00 (€ 340,755.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lincoln Townley erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples wurde die Arbeit Venice Banker für GBP 13.860,00 (€ 16.432,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lincoln Townley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dance with the Devil im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 378.000,00 (€ 340.755,43).
