Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bearded Snake by Mark Handforth was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,223.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Handforth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bent Pipe, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 198,000.00 (€ 149,659.86).
