This artwork by Maurits Cornelis Escher achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2021. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Up And Down sold for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,508.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurits Cornelis Escher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reptiles (Bool 327) in April last year with an auction result of USD 756,000.00 (€ 717,471.77).
