Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Olafur Eliasson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2005. In the first open Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Untitled (Iceland Series) sold for USD 19,200.00 (€ 15,923.04) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Olafur Eliasson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fivefold Eye in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 748,500.00 (€ 1,074,895.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Olafur Eliasson erzielte im September 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion first open Post-War and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Iceland Series) für USD 19.200,00 (€ 15.923,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Olafur Eliasson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fivefold Eye im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 748.500,00 (€ 1.074.895,25).
