Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Sale, which included the work Untitled (cartoon) by Richard Prince. It changed hands for a price of USD 199,500.00 (€ 188,598.98) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Prince achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Runaway Nurse in June 2021 with an auction result of HKD 93,986,000.00 (€ 10,209,316.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (cartoon) von Richard Prince zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 199.500,00 (€ 188.598,98) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Prince erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Runaway Nurse im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 93.986.000,00 (€ 10.209.316,51).
