Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work The Razor's Edge by Robert Motherwell for USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,188.57). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Motherwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work At Five in the Afternoon in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 12,690,000.00 (€ 10,874,035.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Razor's Edge von Robert Motherwell für USD 4.462,50 (€ 4.188,57) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Motherwell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit At Five in the Afternoon im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.690.000,00 (€ 10.874.035,99).
