Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Collage for Red Apple by Roy Lichtenstein was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Session auction at Christies in New York in November 2017. The price achieved of USD 137,500.00 (€ 115,565.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
