Upper estimate price exceeded by 45 %.
In June this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Kansas Farmyard by Thomas Hart Benton. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,176.00 (€ 1,992.67), 45% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hart Benton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nashaquitsa in November last year with an auction result of USD 5,580,000.00 (€ 5,405,405.41).
