Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Double Study for Bedroom Painting #2 by Tom Wesselmann was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in November this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 139,700.00 (€ 128,071.14) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Wesselmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Great American Nude No. 48 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 10,681,000.00 (€ 6,864,395.89).
