The work Two works: (i) Study for Reclining Nude; (ii) Study for Nude Lying Back by Tom Wesselmann was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in November this year. It achieved a price of USD 60,960.00 (€ 55,885.59), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 74%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Wesselmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Great American Nude No. 48 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 10,681,000.00 (€ 6,864,395.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 74 % übertroffen
