In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Black Door by Trudy Benson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,510.86), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Trudy Benson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Giant, which sold at auction in September 2014 for USD 32,500.00 (€ 25,736.46).

Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Black Door von Trudy Benson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.820,00 (€ 7.510,86) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Trudy Benson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red Giant beobachtet, die im September 2014 für USD 32.500,00 (€ 25.736,46) versteigert wurde.
