Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work A token of love by Alexis Van Hamme for EUR 4,541.00. This price was achieved in the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Alexis Van Hamme have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The fruit seller in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 28,161.73).
