ANDY WARHOL (1928-1987) Watercolor Paint Kit with Brushes offset lithograph in colors, on Carnival Felt Cover paper, 1982, signed in felt-tip pen, numbered 26/500 (there were also 75 artist's proofs), published by The New York Association for the Blind, New York, the full sheet, framed Sheet: 8 7 ⁄ 8 x 11 7 ⁄ 8 in. (225 x 303 mm.)

Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Andy Warhol achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July last year. In the Contemporary Edition auction, the work Watercolor Paint Kit with Brushes sold for USD 6,048.00 (€ 5,928.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Andy Warhol erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Edition wurde die Arbeit Watercolor Paint Kit with Brushes für USD 6.048,00 (€ 5.928,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen.
