Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Domenico Campagnola could be acquired at Sothebys in London in March 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Battle Of Nude Men (Bartsch 10; Hind 4) changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 426.96) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Domenico Campagnola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christ in the house of Simon the Pharisee in January 2005 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 110,353.28).
