Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Visions of the Dying Bird Species by George Condo was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 100,800.00 (€ 115,746.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Condo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude and Forms in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,162,500.00 (€ 5,280,634.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Visions of the Dying Bird Species von George Condo wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 100.800,00 (€ 115.746,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Condo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude and Forms im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.162.500,00 (€ 5.280.634,10).
