Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Christies in London held the auction Post War & Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Eight Rectangles, Eight Squares Folded, Hanging, Variation II by George Rickey. The price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 73,243.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Rickey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work One Fixed Four Jointed Lines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 519,000.00 (€ 465,512.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eight Rectangles, Eight Squares Folded, Hanging, Variation II von George Rickey zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 73.243,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Rickey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit One Fixed Four Jointed Lines im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 519.000,00 (€ 465.512,60).
