In April 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Prints & Multiples Day Sale, which included the work Jeune Femme Contemplant Un Bocal De Poissons Rouges (D. 172) by Henri Matisse. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,043.75), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Matisse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Odalisque couchée aux magnolias in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 80,750,000.00 (€ 69,194,515.85).

Im April 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Prints & Multiples Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jeune Femme Contemplant Un Bocal De Poissons Rouges (D. 172) von Henri Matisse zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.043,75) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Matisse erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Odalisque couchée aux magnolias im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 80.750.000,00 (€ 69.194.515,85).
