Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait de Jeune Femme by Jean Dubuffet was sold in the Post War and Contemporary Art Morning Session auction at Christies in New York in November 2006. The price achieved of USD 262,400.00 (€ 197,873.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Dubuffet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paris Polka in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 24,805,000.00 (€ 22,562,306.71).

Die Arbeit Portrait de Jeune Femme von Jean Dubuffet wurde im November 2006 in der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art Morning Session bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 262.400,00 (€ 197.873,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Dubuffet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Paris Polka im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.805.000,00 (€ 22.562.306,71).
