Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Imogen and Bobby Walking by Julian Opie. It changed hands for a price of GBP 23,940.00 (€ 27,489.77) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Julian Opie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Walking in London in the rain in June last year with an auction result of CHF 189,000.00 (€ 189,036.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Imogen and Bobby Walking von Julian Opie zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 23.940,00 (€ 27.489,77) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julian Opie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Walking in London in the rain im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 189.000,00 (€ 189.036,11).
