Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When this work without title by Kenneth Noland was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 6,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at USD 27,720.00 (€ 23,042.39). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kenneth Noland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rocker in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 4,255,000.00 (€ 3,489,421.03).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit ohne Titel von Kenneth Noland im April 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 6.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 27.720,00 (€ 23.042,39) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Noland erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rocker im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.255.000,00 (€ 3.489.421,03).
