Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Red Kite (for Parkett no. 99) by Lynette Yiadom-Boakye was sold in the Contemporary Discoveries auction at Sothebys in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,543.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lynette Yiadom-Boakye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Highpower in October last year with an auction result of GBP 1,482,000.00 (€ 1,726,513.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Red Kite (for Parkett no. 99) von Lynette Yiadom-Boakye wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.543,41) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lynette Yiadom-Boakye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Highpower im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.482.000,00 (€ 1.726.513,59).
