This artwork by Marc Chagall achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2005. In the OLD MASTER, MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY PRINTS auction, the work Orpheus (M. 628) sold for GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,338.57) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Chagall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Amoureux in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 28,453,000.00 (€ 23,914,103.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marc Chagall erzielte im Juni 2005 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion OLD MASTER, MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY PRINTS wurde die Arbeit Orpheus (M. 628) für GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.338,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Chagall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Amoureux im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.453.000,00 (€ 23.914.103,21).
