Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Richard by Maurizio Cattelan was sold in the Post-War to Present auction at Christies in New York in March 2021. The price achieved of USD 87,500.00 (€ 74,512.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurizio Cattelan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Him in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 17,189,000.00 (€ 15,436,910.64).
