Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Misty Doing Her Make-Up, Paris, 1991 by Nan Goldin was sold in the Contemporary Art Online auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2018. The price achieved of USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,915.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nan Goldin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thanksgiving in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 284,500.00 (€ 304,636.47).

Die Arbeit Misty Doing Her Make-Up, Paris, 1991 von Nan Goldin wurde im September 2018 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.915,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nan Goldin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Thanksgiving im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 284.500,00 (€ 304.636,47).
